Issues concerning social justice are provided on
our site to empower individuals in their baptismal
call; to care for others, the world God made, and
work for justice and peace among all people. The
Lutheran Churches of Floyd are not taking a
political stance in providing this material. The
opinions expressed are not necessarily that of the
church or its pastor.
Following are some links for you to use to
educate yourself on the Farm Bill.
Please take the time to read about and prayerfully consider the impact of this
bill. Then (do something)
contact our Congressmen and/or respective committee members and voice your
opinion (advocate).
The Social Justice Committee of the Lutheran Churches of Floyd
County strives to educate ourselves and others regarding social
justice issues within our Floyd Lutheran community and within our
greater community. Social justice is an ideal condition in which all
members of a society have the same basic rights, protection,
opportunities, obligations, and social benefits. In educating ourselves
of conditions that perpetrate social injustice we hope to educate others.
One goal of this committee, with the assistance of the webmaster, has
been to create this web page to offer resources to further knowledge of
social justice issues.
Please browse our site. We appreciate your feedback.
